So I just finished "Sing, Nightingale" and the whole time I kept seeing little things in it that felt like F+TM songs to me, so when I came over here and realized she inspired you, I just got so happy! What a gorgeous fic and seriously, Florence's songs are just perfect for Wheatley and Chell and I just-- I can't wait to read more, whenever you get to it. Thanks so much!!

Florence + the Machine is one of my most favorite artists. I can’t even begin to describe how much I adore her music! All of it is inspiring, enough to make you cry inspiring, both lyrically and melodically. Whenever I listen to any of her songs, I find myself content and very much at peace. It’s my go-to place for serenity and for writing. I love it deeply.

And I’m very glad that you’re enjoying Sing, Nightingale. It warms my heart that so many have read my story and are happy from doing so. (:

The short answer: yes!

The long answer: eventually.

I’ve had a lot of personal things happen over the past few months that have sapped me of both creativity, inspiration, and happiness, but that is slowly changing. I’m on my feet again and I’m feeling better. I plan on getting back to work on Sing, Nightingale as soon as I can. The right half of my brain seems to only like working under certain circumstances, so hopefully I’ll find that spark and snatch it soon! I’ll be sure to let everyone know once I start writing again, because once I do start, I don’t plan on stopping.

I was more or less dead for a good amount of time, but I’m okay now.

Lots of personal things happened and I couldn’t deal with them properly, so I did what I normally do in such situations: I became a recluse. I stopped logging on steam, stopped talking to people, and stopped responding to messages. I shut myself down and focused on other things.

But now, everything is fine. I’m out of school, I have a job, I’m happy, and I’m mentally stable.

I wanted to apologise to those who sent me messages during my absence. I didn’t mean to ignore anyone. I would see them pop up into my inbox, I would read them, and then go on to something else with every intent to come up with a response later, but… later would never happen.

So I’ll be posting the ones I received here soon. Most likely tomorrow when I’m not exhausted.

I also plan on trying to revive my creative spirit now that I’m in a balanced state, as it were. This means that I’m going to try to work on Sing, Nightingale again. I know there is no such thing as writer’s block and that one is driven to write solely by determination, but it’s going to be difficult to ease back into it. I haven’t written in a long while. It might be a while yet before anything SN related is achieved.

I wanted to thank those that reached out to me in concern, too. I appreciate it greatly.

A Bunch Of Sad, Insecure Dudes Attacked A Woman And Everyone Got What They Deserved

When Anita Sarkeesian announced plans to do a video series exploring the portrayal of women in video games, she became the victim of a massive online attack choreographed by members of the gaming community who cast her as the “villain” in their online “game” to ruin her life. It did not go well for them. But for Anita, things ended up going very well indeed.

You definitely want to watch the whole thing, but here are some highlights: at 1:00 she talks about why she loves video games, at 2:02 just try to imagine yourself in her shoes, at 3:45 she sticks the people attacking her under a microscope, and at 8:15 she doesn’t just win the game, she absolutely destroys it.

Watch this.

And this is why only 13% of computer science department students (on average) are sexually active. Smh.

Remember when this shit was going down? Check this out, it’s really important. I am in awe of her bravery.

I can’t even handle how much I love Anita Sarkeesian.

I have no idea how she managed to get through this, much less come out on top. This would have destroyed me in every way. I am in complete awe of her bravery, and look forward to this series.
